There are several types of disabilities. Each one of them need specific care and tending towards them. One person might need a wheelchair, whereas another might need a crutch. There are also a number of people who use mobility scooters. Yes you heard it right. That is what they are called. With medical advancements, now patients with disabilities can easily access these 'scooties'. These are almost like other scooters with which one can take a ride on the sidewalks, backyards, and lanes. Since this is an absolute new concept many of us still don't know much about it. These work out to be the best when a disabled person is kind of bored with wheelchairs, power chairs and crutches. Guess what, you can take your loved one to the shopping mall on these mobility scooters.

Mobility scooters are lighter than power chairs and therefore more comfortable. In fact these look much more appealing to the eyes than the other disability tools. For a disabled person, flexibility becomes a major issue. This is when mobility scooters can be of great help. To make it simpler, we list the four common types of mobility scooters:

1. Portable mobility scooters: These are the most convenient ones because they can taken from one location to another. You just need to fold them and keep them inside a trunk to relocate them form one place to another. Also called travel scooters, these are the ideal ones for those disabled people who still are strong enough to see the world!

2. Pride scooters: These are also very popular. Made by a well know company in scooter business, pride scooters are manufactured in such a way that they can move in places which are tight and narrow. SO basically these are flexible. These are for both indoor and outdoor uses. So basically you wouldn't need to worry about two scooters for different uses.

3. Heavy Duty scooters:Sounds a little different isn't it? Well, that's because they are different. These scooters are extremely durable and can be ridden on nearly terrains. They can carry heavy weights so it wouldn't be a problem for a disabled person who is on the heavier side or obese.

4. Four Wheeled scooters: Having much better than three wheeled scooters, these four wheeled scooters are more stable and therefore good for outdoor use. They provide balance which is what is needed for disabled person.
